Successful Collaboration Between Netherlands, Ghana Police Service & Interpol Accra
Accra, Ghana / Apeldoorn, Netherlands — September 22, 2025
DIGITPOL is proud to announce the continued success of its collaboration with the Ghana Police Service, particularly with Interpol Accra, a specialised Stolen Motor Vehicle (SMV) unit operating within Ghana’s Criminal Investigations Department (CID).
As part of a broader international initiative to track and recover stolen Dutch vehicles, Digitpol has been providing ongoing technical support to law enforcement authorities in Ghana. This strategic partnership has led to significant operational outcomes and demonstrates the strength of cross-border cooperation in tackling transnational vehicle crime.
Following a recent visit to Accra between the 15th and 17th of September 2025, Digitpol can confirm the successful identification, tracking, and seizure of 10 Dutch vehicles in just three days. This effort was made possible through the diligent work of Interpol Accra and the leadership within the CID.
To date, the collaboration has resulted in:
-
24 stolen vehicles successfully repatriated to the Netherlands
-
4 more vehicles currently en route
-
10 vehicles seized during the latest mission
Digitpol commends the Ghana Police Service as a modern, professional, and highly capable law enforcement agency. Under the direction of the Director-General of the CID, extensive efforts are underway to combat vehicle-related crime. Numerous foreign vehicles have already been seized as part of this ongoing crackdown.
“We extend our sincere thanks for the hospitality, professionalism, and dedication shown by our colleagues in Ghana,” said a spokesperson for Digitpol. “This project is a testament to what can be achieved when international law enforcement agencies and the private security sector collaborate closely and share resources and expertise.”
This operation underscores Digitpol’s ongoing commitment to international policing, forensic investigations, and supporting cross-border recovery operations
