IAATI Europe - Technical Forum & Workshops Provided to EU Members
As of January 2023 European branch members can apply to attend online workshops and physical events. The goal of these workshops is to share knowledge, educate members and to combine strengths, the overall goal is to contribute towards the fight against organized vehicle crime. IAATI members can apply to attend these workshops regardless of your current expertise.
The workshops will cover the examination of ECU's. Clusters, Keys and built-in OEM GPS Satellite Navigation systems, known as Infotainment or Telematics systems. How to recover forensic data from all coded standalone vehicle modules, identification the VIN, serial numbers and other data that can be used to identify a standalone part.
We ask members to express their interest and share what you would like to see in the forum and following your interest, an approved agenda will be published in January 2023!

ECU Forensics
Recovery of Deleted Digital VIN and KM data
Workshop on recovery of deleted KM, VIN and Serial numbers from all types of coded standalone vehicle parts such as, ECU's. ABS. Airbag modules, Instrument clusters (dashboards).
- KM reading
- VIN & Serial numbers
- History and faults with times and KM
- Crash data, events and historic faults.
Key Forensics
Is The Key Original? Does it belong to the claim?
Workshop on the recovery of data from Keys - Transponder Chip Forensics
- Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
- Transponder ID
- How many keys are coded to the vehicle, which key is it
- The last KM reading
- The Fuel status
- Vehicle data paired with the last entry
GPS Forensics
Navigation systems are stolen in volumes, they also contain critical forensic data.
Several workshops on recover evidence from the following systems installed in the following vehicle brands.

OEM's will also participate to LEA sessions.
Physical Vehicle Investigation
Workshops to cover the basic and advanced methods to detect and investigate of stolen vehicles, workshops will include identification of VIN numbers, etching of manipulated VIN and stamped numbers. To identify welded frames, chassis legs, cloned vehicles and other methods to identify stolen vehicles.
