Cloud-Based GSM Cellular Signal Strength Analyzer

The GSM Signal Sensor is a Digitpol-developed module for detecting and monitoring GSM signals. It can be installed on walls, poles, or mobile units to continuously measure signal strength and upload data to the cloud for remote access.

The cloud-based system reports signal strength, available networks, cell towers, and timestamps of new tower activity. When multiple modules are deployed, they form a mesh network for enhanced coverage and reliability.

Digitpol's GSM Cellular Signal Strength Analyzer is a cutting-edge solution designed for continuous monitoring and analysis of GSM networks. Ideal for law enforcement, security agencies, and telecom operators, this device offers real-time insights into cellular activity, enabling rapid detection of anomalies and ensuring network integrity.

Designed and built by Digitpol in the Netherlands, the device helps detect interference, identify cellular issues, and enhance site security.

Use Cases:

Cellular Network Monitoring

  • Scenario: A company manages multiple remote sites where reliable GSM connectivity is critical.

  • Use: Install sensors to continuously monitor signal strength and network availability, allowing the IT team to detect weak coverage areas and plan upgrades or interventions.

Interference Detection

  • Scenario: A secure facility experiences unexpected communication dropouts.

  • Use: Deploy the sensor to detect unusual GSM interference or jamming attempts, alerting security personnel in real-time.

Mobile Operations

  • Scenario: Emergency response vehicles need reliable cellular connectivity in varying locations.

  • Use: Mount sensors in vehicles to track GSM signal quality on the move and report it to a central system, ensuring consistent communication during operations.

Security and Surveillance

  • Scenario: High-security sites need protection against unauthorized cellular activity.

  • Use: Monitor trusted devices and new cell tower activity in the vicinity, enabling early detection of potential threats or rogue base stations.

The Software

The system features a secure API connecting the Detector to the Cloud, providing 24/7 access to all data.

Real-Time Spectrum Monitoring: Displays GSM activity in 200ms intervals with historical data visualization.

Comprehensive Signal Database: Stores real-time and historic GSM data, including connected and nearby cellular towers as well as nearby SSID, MAC addresses, and IMSI.

Jamming Events: Lifetime logs with timestamps and metadata; exportable in CSV and PDF.

Connected Cellular Towers: Complete history with timestamps and metadata; exportable in CSV and PDF.

Nearby Cellular Towers: Full records with timestamps and metadata; exportable in CSV and PDF.

Wi-Fi Detection: Logs of nearby SSIDs, MAC addresses, and signal strength (additional data available for LEA); exportable in CSV and PDF.

Multi-User Management: Administrators can manage user access and select which users receive alerts when events are triggered.
