Stolen Toyota sold on false blank German documents.
DIGITPOL, in collaboration with Politie Nederland, successfully tracked a stolen Dutch-registered Toyota to Limburg.
Upon inspection, it was discovered that the vehicle’s identity had been altered.
The buyer claimed to have purchased the vehicle in Germany, a statement that was later confirmed to be true. However, further investigation revealed that the documents provided were counterfeit – blank German documents that had been fraudulently filled out.
While the investigation continues, DIGITPOL strongly advises potential buyers to conduct thorough due diligence when purchasing vehicles from Germany. Even if the paperwork appears legitimate, there’s a risk that the vehicle may not be officially registered in the German database.
