BMW X3 Captured in GHANA returned to France
DIGITPOL was alerted to a stolen BMW X3 that had been rented in France and not returned. The vehicle was later detected in Ghana. Upon receiving this information, DIGITPOL initiated an investigation and prepared a formal report. Through official channels, INTERPOL in Accra, Ghana, was notified of the case. A highly specialised unit within INTERPOL Accra — the Stolen Vehicle Task Force — successfully located and impounded the vehicle.
Following verification of ownership through the proper documentation, a court order was issued for the vehicle’s release. Once all legal and administrative procedures were completed, the BMW was shipped from Ghana’s port to the Port of Rotterdam, where DIGITPOL’s stolen vehicle unit took custody.
In recognition of the swift and thorough actions taken by INTERPOL Accra, who promptly executed all requested steps upon receiving the official alert, DIGITPOL arranged for the direct return of the car to its lawful owner. This case demonstrated that, through effective international cooperation, the complete chain of events from detection to recovery can be successfully achieved, underscoring the efficiency of joint efforts in combating vehicle crime.
DIGITPOL extends its compliments to INTERPOL Ghana for their high level of effectiveness at every stage of the operation, ensuring the vehicle’s return to France in a remarkably short time. We also express our sincere thanks to the highly specialised legal team, who, when confronted with numerous challenges, navigated the legal process with exceptional skill and dedication.
