The tit-for-tat policy that the Foundation for Stichting Directe Aansprakelijkstelling aan Daders works well. For the third consecutive year, both the number of affiliated entrepreneurs and the number of redress actions have increased. In 2022, € 3.7 million will have been paid by perpetrators. Almost a third of this (1.1 million) was recovered from insurance fraudsters.
The Direct Liability to Offenders Foundation , or DAAD for short, was established at the end of 2012 to hold perpetrators of criminal offenses liable. The purpose of DAAD is to make perpetrators of crime such as shoplifting and insurance fraud pay for the indirect damage.
